Nolans law firm have served and helped the Gisborne community and surrounding rural districts for many years.
Established in 1879, Nolans are one of the oldest law firms in New Zealand.
With the solid foundation of an established business and proud of a history that has helped generations of Gisborne locals, the team at Nolans have the foresight and experience to move into the future, but with the flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing needs and landscapes of the community.
With that in mind, Nolans are excit ed to announce and welcome a new partner to the business.
From July 1, Hayden Anderson joined the partnership alongside existing partners Julie Mettrick and Melanie Walker.
Hayden, who originally hails from Auckland, obtained his law degree at Otago University and began his career as a lawyer at a large law firm in Auckland.
He also gained experience within various financial services companies in New Zealand and overseas, including ANZ and Westpac.
Hayden and wife Victoria (originally from Gisborne) lived in Sydney for 10 years — working and raising two sons.
Hayden has been employed as a lawyer at Nolans since 2021, following a decision to move to Gisborne.
“I am excited to be joining the partnership and working with Julie, Mel and the rest of the team to continue to provide great service to our clients and the East Coast community,” he said.
Hayden brings a strong general practice knowledge in matters concerning property, trusts, estate and succession planning, commercial transactions and rural matters.
“Hayden is a great communicator with the ability to deliver clear and effective advice in a timely way,” Julie said. “He will continue to be an asset to the team at Nolans.”
The Nolans partners believe positive relationships and communications are key.
They work together with clients to provide swift, effective and practical advice.
From buying a house, family law, relationships and succession planning, trusts and wills to investing in the commercial sector, or general commercial advice, the team at Nolans will take the time to listen and understand an individual client’s needs and then offer appropriate legal advice and solutions.
Their approach is down-to-earth and client-centred, which means they offer bespoke, tailored advice.
“The partners at Nolans are proud of where we are going,” Melanie said.
We are stepping into the future with enthusiasm. We are excited to provide great service to our clients and a positive working environment for our staff.”
